This announcement relates to the 2025 Board election, which has concluded. It is retained as an archive record.
The Nomination Committee 2025 (NomCom July 2025) is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for candidates in the 2025 election for the AFRINIC Board of Directors. The call for nominations for candidates was open from 15 to 29 August 2025.
The available seats on AFRINIC’s Board of Directors for the 2025 elections were as follows:
- Seat One: North Africa
- Seat Two: West Africa
- Seat Three: Indian Ocean
- Seat Four: Central Africa
- Seat Five: Southern Africa
- Seat Six: Eastern Africa
- Seat Seven: Region-Independent
- Seat Eight: Region-Independent
Each seat can only be held by one candidate. A natural person residing in the above sub-regions and national of a country in the said sub-region, as stated, may be nominated for Seats 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
A natural person residing in any of the above sub-regions and national of a country in any of the said sub-regions may be nominated for Seats 7 and 8.
Elected candidates serve a term not exceeding three (3) years with respect to all seats.
The Call for Candidates was open until 29 August 2025 at 23:59 UTC.
