This announcement relates to the 2025 Board election, which has concluded. It is retained as an archive record.
We are pleased to announce the extension of the call for candidates for the AFRINIC Board Election to Tuesday, 2 September 2025 at 23:59 MUT. We encourage you to submit nominations for the following open Board positions. The voting period for board election 2025 has been extended from 8 to 15 September 2025.
- Seat One: North Africa
- Seat Two: West Africa
- Seat Three: Indian Ocean
- Seat Four: Central Africa
- Seat Five: Southern Africa
- Seat Six: Eastern Africa
- Seat Seven: Region-Independent
- Seat Eight: Region-Independent
As a reminder, all candidate nominations should be accompanied by a corresponding support letter from both the nominating organisation and seconding organisation respectively.
For Seats 1–6
The nominator must be from the same country as the candidate. The seconder must be from the same subregion as the candidate.
For Seats 7–8
The nominator must be from the same country as the candidate. The seconder may be from any AFRINIC region.
Two templates were provided for candidates to adopt: a nominating letter template and a seconding letter template. Individuals who had already submitted their candidature were invited to ensure that their corresponding supporting letters covered the gist of the template letters provided.
